Corporate Tax Registration

Almost every UAE business must register for Corporate Tax — even those paying 0%. We secure your registration number and confirm your deadline, from AED 100.

Overview

Corporate Tax registration, sorted in days not weeks

UAE Corporate Tax applies to financial years beginning on or after 1 June 2023. Taxable income up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0%, and anything above that at 9%. Crucially, registration is not optional for profitable businesses only — nearly every business and commercial activity in the UAE must register and obtain a Corporate Tax registration number, whatever its profit.

That includes free zone companies, holding companies, and businesses that fully expect to claim Small Business Relief. The FTA sets a registration deadline for each business based on its licence or incorporation details, and missing it brings a fixed AED 10,000 penalty.

We confirm your obligation and deadline, complete the registration on EmaraTax, and hand you your Corporate Tax registration number along with the dates that matter — your first tax period and when your return will be due.

Corporate Tax Registration FAQs

Your questions, answered

Do I need to register for Corporate Tax if I earn under AED 375,000?+

Yes. Registration is required for taxable persons carrying on business in the UAE regardless of profit. Even if your taxable income is below AED 375,000 (taxed at 0%), or you plan to claim Small Business Relief, you must still register and obtain a Corporate Tax registration number.

Do free zone companies have to register for Corporate Tax?+

Yes. All free zone companies must register, including Qualifying Free Zone Persons who benefit from a 0% rate on qualifying income. Registration is separate from the question of how much tax you ultimately pay.

What is the deadline to register for Corporate Tax?+

The FTA sets registration deadlines based on factors such as your licence issuance month or date of incorporation. Many of these deadlines have already arrived, so if you have not registered yet, you should do so without delay to limit penalties. We confirm your exact deadline as part of the service.

What is the penalty for registering late?+

A late Corporate Tax registration carries an administrative penalty of AED 10,000. Registering promptly is the simplest way to avoid it — and if you are already late, getting registered now stops the situation getting worse.

Is registration the same as filing my Corporate Tax return?+

No. Registration is a one-time step that gives you a Corporate Tax registration number. After that, you file a Corporate Tax return for each tax period — due within nine months of the period end. We handle both if you need.
